  • The Leopard has a lanky and elegant body structure, short legs, large feet and a well developed tail. It is the panther with the widest geographic distribution. It is endowed with an extreme ability to adapt; in fact it is found in any habitat with a good availability of water and food. It lives in arid savannahs, the humid forests of Africa, on plains and high plains, in the torrid Indian jungles and in the cold woods of the Amur region. Taking into account the enormous extension of the territory that it inhabits and the variation of its habitats, it is understandable that the Leopard would propagate a high number of subspecies including some which have become very rare or extinct.
