The Giraffe is the tallest animal in the world. It can reach 6-7 metres. It has an extrememly elongated neck and limbs which allow it to reach the highest leaves of the trees. It tears off the leaves with its long prehensile tongue. To drink it has to widen its legs and lower its neck
Giraffes live in family groups that frequently mix with larger ones of zebras and antelopes. If attacked, they defend themselves with powerful kicking.
