The common eland is the biggest of the African Antilopes.
Both the males and females alike have horns; the males have stronger more massive ones than the females. They live in small groups and rest willingly under the shady trees of the savannah and the steppe. Despite its size and weight, the Eland Antilope can jump 2 meters high.
Females give birth to a calf after a gestation of 260 days.
