  • Measure between 90 and 100 cm at the withers and weighs between 70 and 110 kg. It has a long hair and rough especially under the neck. In females, the color of the coat is reddish-yellow, while in adult males is brown. Ears, armpits, groin, inner part of the legs and hooves near the hair is white-cream as well as the lips, chin and some areas around the eyes and behind his head. The tail is long and white with a black tuft. The horns of the male are lyre-shaped and occur-ring.

    The suitable habitat consists of wetlands along rivers and alluvial grasslands with tall grasses and reeds. They crepuscular habits. The current population is estimated at 40-50 thousand animals.
