In spring, the Wood Duck flies in couples and rests on lakes and ponds.
It searches for food under the water’s surface, without completely immersing. During the mating season, the couples show off in the water and the males try to attract the females. The nest is built near the water, in the grass or on the plants and the female lays 9-14 eggs
