The Cheetah’s favoured habitat is the dry savannah.
It has a lanky body, long legs and non retractable claws. Although in the wild cheetahs shun the presence of man, once captured they are domesticated and tamed in a short time.
While not a climber, the Cheetah willingly uses trees with diagonal branches and those that allow him to reach the low branches with a jump. This allows the Cheetah to jump 4 to 5 meters.
It is a very fast predator and a capable runner that easily achieves speeds of 80-90 km/h with bursts of 100-120 km/h.
