The Cottontop Tamarin is a monkey of the Americas that lives in the tropical forests.
It has a thick mane of white hair that completely covers its head and that swells when the animal is angry or scared. The adult reaches the weight of 260-350 grams.
Diurnal and arboreal, it lives in family groups of 2-20 individuals that mark their territory with their scent. After a gestation of 140 days, two young can be born.
They mainly eat insects and fruit.
The species is endangered due to deforestation and hunting.
