The Ring-Tailed Lemure lives in South West Madagascar in forest habitats and along rivers. They also adapt to very arid habitats.

The eyes are surrounded by black hair. An adult weighs about 5-6 kg, its body is approximately 50 cm long and the tail can reach 60 cm in length.
