The Eagel Owl is a nocturnal bird of prey and the largest European Owl. It is able to catch prey the size of a large rooster by seizing them with its powerful claws.
It is solitary and hunts at dawn and sunset. During the day, it stays in its refuge which is usually a crevice in the rocks or a hole in a tree. Strong and courageous, the Eagle Owl confronts the biggest falcons or other enemies that encounter him by chance during the day. It shows affection towards its offspring. It lays 1-4 eggs at a time.
